WordPress for Android
It has recently been announced that the latest version of WordPress for Android has been released. With more and more people owning Android devices, especially Android tablets, this will certainly be good news for those who want to manage blog-style websites whilst on-the-go.
Although certain versions have been available for mobile devices before, the 2.0 version promised a number of added benefits. Blogging is often something which is restricted to the standard internet browser on a PC. Whilst this means that WordPress users can easily edit content whilst sending emails, this has not always been the case for those who prefer to access the content management system via their Android devices. However, the latest version of the WordPress for Android app features a Dashboard interface, similar to that which can be found on the site itself. This is likely to make mobile editing much easier for those who want to approve comments and made changes to their posts whilst on the go.
Not only will the changes make WordPress more user-friendly on Android phones, but the same advantages will apply to Android tablets. As the popularity of tablet devices continues to grow, it makes sense that WordPress would be keen to cater for this ever expanding market. The posts editor and the statistics dashboard are two of the areas which are noted for offering significant improvements for Android tablet users. Those who have been using existing versions of this app will be able to simply install an update in order to enjoy the benefits of this upgraded version. However, it may be too late for some tablet bloggers, who are likely to have already other options, which have offered greater convenience in the past, in terms of mobile blogging.
