Negarakuku and it’s verdicts
Well guys, the title itself says a lot..This is a song which hit the video community drastically and make a sort of debut pretty quick..His previous song which was famous was about Muar and the surroundings of it..Lets not talk about the previous hit..
Lyrics translation and the rest of the story after the jump
This song doesnt deserve respects..That’s my first judgement..If he’s trying to promote himself by singing the Negarakuku (I was told by my friends that kuku means penis) and expects his song to be the song of the year for Visit Malaysia 2007, THAT is definitely a dream which is never to come true..I think you guys who dont understand chinese or his language, read the lyrics before reading on..
I Love My Country
Negaraku(Repeat) Check it out, yo, yo, yo.
(Repeat) Negaraku, Negarakuku.
I love my country, only when you have a country you have a home
Only with a home then there will be me, standing here with you
Loudly singing, don’t be afraid
Even though I curse all the time
My song, is just like the durian
Tough and spiky, only
To see if you dare to open it, to look at the truth inside
It can be very stinky, it can be very fragrant
It only depends on what kind of nostrils you have. Our police is called Mata
Because they have very shiny eyes
Once it’s New Year, they will be very hard working
Holding pens but they will rarely write you a receipt
Because they are thirsty, they need to drink tea
Also kopi-O, want to add sugar?
If they add sugar, their mouths will sweetly smile at you
When you are leaving
They will even go “Tata.”Negaraku
Tanah tumpahnya darahku
Rakyat hidup bersatu dan maju. This phenomenon, doesn’t need any improvements
Neither does it need strengthening, the police and the people work together
A cup of coffee keeps our relationship temperate
I so very suka
At least I won’t go home and receive a saman (fine or ticket)
My dad would sure be pissed
I would also kiong kan (swear word in Cantonese for “get raped”), with no car to drive
What to do, this time so very kao lat (an expression, something like aiyo)
With no car, how do I go out and play?
With no car, how do I wage “wild war”? (I don’t know what it means but I assume it has something to do with a girl)
With no car, how do I go and watch ah kua? (transvestites)
This country, I like it very much.5 in the morning
There’s even a morning call to wake me up
Sometimes a few of them will sing together
When you listen to it, it’s like a love duet
The voice ululates like an R&B song
Even though sometimes they sing until it’s out of tune
Even though sometimes they even sing until their voices break
Some sound like cockerels, but they wake up earlier than them
This way we can know the time to get ready for class and for work
Don’t blame, the government only takes cares of the natives
Don’t blame, we don’t receive equal care
Only this way we can prove that we Chinese are not afraid of hard work
Only this way we can train ourselves to find a solution during hard times
Don’t feel weird about their standards
Because this only shows that we are smart (or capable)
Children who are not spoilt will not be dependant
Because you see some children are still not weaned off breast-feeding.Rahmat bahagia
Tuhan kurniakan
Raja kita
Selamat bertakhta.People who hide in government departments are even better (even more capable)
They can do everything so slowly
Even when people are queuing, are cursing stinky lelai (what’s that?)
They’re chill and unfazed
Sometimes they even bring out their kuih
They eat their nyonya kuih
More people will continue queuing up
Even when you curse stinky lelai it doesn’t matter
Because the guard at the side is dreaming
And he won’t scold you one lah. They wrap up their heads; walk slowly and cross the road slowly
When you pass in the car you even have to let them pass first
The most important thing is to live happily; the most important thing is to live comfortably
Don’t be like the Chinese
Busy the whole day, very tough
We really cannot NOT admire this spirit”
Because this is their attitude in life.(Attitude, attitude)
I’ve been saying good things in this song
I believe those of you who are pissed at me will like this now
The world is peaceful, and full of hope
No one is hurt, there aren’t any riots
You’re so classy, you’re so elegant
Your shit is fragrant, and you don’t curse
You guys are the most high class, every day it’s just romancingListening to Guang Liang Pin Guan (this local Chinese artiste)
But he already ran to Taiwan
Private school students graduate
It’s so very tough to get admitted into local universities
Actually we don’t have to get pissed about this issue
Actually this is the a very noble plan by the government
They want us to explore the world, to find new opportunities for ourselves
To learn things and come back and repay the country
This is plan is so great, I can’t quibble about it
All over the world you can see Malaysia’s children
They’re like refugees, so very shiok (expression for orgasm or high)2007, Malaysia’s having Visit Malaysia Year
The Chinese culture is brought out and paraded
The government doesn’t even care about private school students
The certificate is thrown into the longkang (ditch), just like meGraduated and went to Taiwan
Learned about things, and got ready to come back to repay my country
I stood on the streets of Taipei with my guitar
But my mouth still sings.Rahmat Bahagia
Tuhan kurniakan
Raja kita Selamat bertakhta.
I got this lyrics syndicated from other site and I’d like to thank the translator..So..what’s so cool about the song? He’s pissing on our country and trying to promote it? LOL! I hate the part where he bangs the police..No! Our country are not filled with fucked up cops! I have seen very sincere and anti-bribery uniform men giving tickets with the right attitude..Maybe this was the time about 5 years or more ago when bribery was easy..but today, try to bribe a cop and you may just end up with multiple charges..so hell no, the cops aint what he explains..
He also keeps mentioning about ahkua, the transvestites in our country..That was even a part of his previous Muar song..I think its not fair of him to do so..We do have many transvestites in our country, but believe me, I’ve seen a country which have multiple time more than us and they never bother talking about it..As if it’s an issue of disgrace and by mentioning it, it will reduce in our country..duh~
Now, read the 5 in the morning part..This is for the muslims..He refers the azan as “songs”!Who the fuck says azan is an R&B song?!If some of them sound like cockerels, then I would say, this creator of Negarakuku has a sound like a PIG! He goes “ohh..ohh..yeah..yeah..” which is a definite resemblance..and HELLO..our azan is not an ALARM for you to wake up..If you cant bear with it, go away and stay sumwhere further..!
And the part about the government..Whow! This dude sure knows a lot eh? He went into the government department to check it out eh? He keeps on barking in his song whatever shit he wants without judgement..Come on..Malaysia is not what this dude think it is! I live here and I know my shit too..I never complaint about the government departments all this while..About letting the cars pass first..OF COURSE! That’s a way of respect! Thats why dogs like this singer dont become our government leaders! And if he wants to complain about that shit, he can go to any other country and still experience the same..There’s no difference after all!
I think he should have never came back from Taiwan after all..He’s just a mess..
Well, I love metal and music..and of course, being innovative..I like to metallize songs which are patriotic too..But HEY! I never did and would never even think of doing that to our National Anthem at least! That’s a curse man! He could have made some innovations on songs like “Sejahtera Malaysia”, or “Keranamu Malaysia”, or perhaps any other song but NOT Negaraku man! If the law is ever going to fuck this guy up, maybe I’d like to be the one against him at most..He’s not a music composer or what not..He’s just a music shitter – gaining publicity negatively through the cheap way..
Im not uploading any of his videos..coz that’ll just mean that Im supporting him – which I DONT at all! For your information too, YouTube has hold this video and classified it as banned – and so should others who have his video or are hosting his video..Ditch em into the longkang like what he says in his lyrics..No glory and no respects for this guy at all..That’s the way it should be..Anyone wats to discuss about it, post it up in the comments..Till the next post guys..

I dont understand how you can be so narrow minded. You are entitled to your opinions, I respect that. But you have no right to say that if we don’t like the call of azan, we should get go stay somewhere else. I would say that Malaysia doesnt just belong to Malays. Please wake up. Malaysia belongs to Chinese, Indians, Kadazans and etc. I think you are well educated person, why are you still asking us “pendatang” to leave whenever something like this happens? I am currently based overseas, and developments like this are not encouraging national unity. That guy who sang the song may have been insensitive, critize that. But don’t easily as people to leave Malaysia.
Happy merdeka! Whatever that means….

Well guys, I knew his hits before Negarakuku was even made..I used to lauch at his ideas about the Mura song..Yes, he is funny..but sorry to say, the Negarakuku is total disrespectful..Of course the idea is debatable but the real fact of him to even point it out is what matters..Our azan is not an alarm clock for anybody..It’s a call for all muslims to go for prayers..True enough, if a person cant stand the azan, he better should move out from that area..
We all love to criticize..but we should put religious matters out of those critics..They won’t lead to anything positive..I dont think there would be any time in my life that I would even have thought of anything bad about other races..I see churches and temples everywhere..I’d be keen to know how the prayers are recited..not criticize whatever ritual they do..The fact that the song supports Chinese is bias..He should be fair to all races..And believe me, if you guys were muslims, you wouldn’t like this song too..
At all conditions, whatever he did, his biggest mistake was to make a joke out of the Negaraku..which shouldn’t have happened at all..you cant even mis-spell the Negaraku which may lead you into deep trouble..leave alone modifying it into a western customed theme..hah.. -

Dear all…
I would like to express my concern over this matter because it is growing into hatred if its not carefully solved. Theres no right or wrong in this case just different. Like Takashi said in his comment, we all have the right to speak. Yes, I agree but people do have feelings. Im not siding the Malays, Chinese, Muslims or Buddhist. I see people not with their race or religion. The thing here that concerns me the most is just the statement that namewee made about a certain aspect of Muslim’s way of living and that is about the 5 daily prayer call. To answer Shah’s question about others call of prayer Im sure you (Takeshi) know this since you are currently based abroad. The churches for example do have this so called prayer call on Sunday with their bells. Same goes for the Hindus. Bells and their musics will be played too. So anyways, if we let everyone speaks freely about what they think today, I do think that the world wouldnt be a better place to live in. Thats why people need to have a mental guideline over what to say and what not to say. For mister anonymous, Im glad that you dont see this song as a propaganda against Malaysia. Im just here to express my concern over this matter. I do believe that what he did was not right (religions aspect). Over the govermental aspect, Im not saying that he is wrong too :-p I dont care if he wants to condemn the goverment or the Sultans because they are humans. Religions equal to gods and gods are something that people believe in and look up to. I am not an Indian, a Malay, a Chinese or the pendatang. Im just a human who seeks peace upon the world. I hope that we could have more of these healthy discussion here :-) -
Well said The Watcher..I totally agree with your views..Considering Freedom Of Speech just like what we see in western countries, they end up with fights and bad consequences..Just like what you mentioned, it is important for human to have their guidelines..It’s just like a human who is born and you’re teaching them how to talk..If we don’t guide them through the process, they end up being mute..Very welcoming comment from you indeed. Thanks :)

You should check out his other “hits”. He’s more of a comic than politician. In one of his songs, he rapped that Singaporeans all live in identical flats, just like communists. He said stupid Singaporeans still think Malaysians lived in trees. In Muar Boy, he said that KL chinese who speak Cantonese think they are above the Johor Chinese who speak Hokkien, and said your language doesn’t determine your place in society.
If we can’t even laugh at ourselves, then what’s the point.
If you listen carefully, he doesn’t put down Muslims at all. Even the bit about the morning prayers, it was hilarious. He said you won’t need an alarm clock, and that way you won’t be late for school or work. Where people see conflict, he said you can live in harmony by looking at things differently.
Let us be honest, there are some days when azan was recited a little “off” but every body just kept respectful silence. Namewee just poked fun at it.
In fact, he asked Chinese not to complain about NEP. He said it makes them strong and independent.
He didn’t complain about the police. He said it was better relationship to pay kopi-money than getting summoned. He didn’t say he wasn’t speeding. If he got summoned, he would have been grounded by his parents.
