Upload music to MySpace or Friendster (Updated)

About 90% of my visitors came to my blog in reference to my previous post “Upload music to MySpace or Friendster” and since the site is being developed, I’m going to create a new tutorial for you guys. Thanks for your feedback, and as an appreciation, I’ll post an effective tutorial for you guys. This should help :)
First of all, you should read the previous post and get yourself an account on Boxstr. Next, upload your favourite songs to the Boxstr account that you have created. Once you have done that, get the URLs of each of the songs and copy them down somewhere (You may want to just leave the window open – but remember which URL represents which song). Cool, your song files are already uploaded. Now it’s time to kick em on a player and play those songs on your beloved profiles :)
Here is how you do it:
- Go to Myflashfetish website..
- You will see the following tab at the top of the page
- As the image says, click “MP3 Players” and follow to the next page
- Select your design and click “create now”
- Customice your player if you must, but the most important portion of this page is as in the following image
- Insert your song title and the appropriate URL in the box, and hit “Add MP3s”
- Alternatively, you can see “Search Music” in the same box where you can simply search for the songs you want, and paste the code in the box above
- Finally, hit “Get Code” and you’re done with your player!
Now copy your code and paste it in your MySpace or Friendster or Orkut or Hi5 profile and enjoy the music you ever wanted on your profile! :) You can also use this player on other websites you have. All you need is the code of the player :)
Oh yes, and do register with their site to use the service (duh..~) :P
Till the next post guys.

Yes hi everyone. So my songs wont play. Heres where i’m at, i uploaded the songs to my Boxstr account and copied the urls but the songs just wont play.. then when i enter the url into the actual browser it gives me this (see picture below)
i suspect it is because i dont have the recent version of quicktime (i’m not sure what version i have so i’m downloading the latest one now)
but i just cant figure it out… i tried uploading on fileden to and it wouldn’t work
thanks

There are two reasons why this is not happening. Depending on the problem you faced:
1. The player didnt show up. If this is the case, you need the Macromedia Flash Player which can be downloaded from their site.
2. If the songs arent playing, the URL u entered is invalid. As you can see, when you have a song titled “Missing You” and enter it into Boxstr, it will identify as “Missing%20You” which is recognized by the browsers. However, Flash doesnt seem to identify this properly. So, I recommend you to rename your song files to something short like “MissingYou” (without space) and that should solve the problem. Try it :) -

So i downloaded the most recent flash player. and tried camel casing the song. But it still gives me the quicktime symbol with the question mark when i pop the link into a browser. and i made sure that i had .mp3 as the extension to.
heres the link if you need it for anything (nothing comes to mind at the moment but you never know!)

ok
thanks
i made a music folder name Mp3 Music (i think that’s the name)
and i figure out that its only some songs that wont play
i uploaded songs by senses fail with and without spaces and they worked fine
but when i tried to upload songs by the devil wears prada none would work (those are the songs i was originally trying to get work y i came here)

Oh, that’s simple..You just need an audio converter to do the job. For this, I’d recommend you the 4music mp3 to mp3 converter. Just use the trial and convert your songs to the bitrate I stated above. Before that, you can check the bitrate of your mp3 file by right clicking the song file on your computer -> Properties -> Summary -> Advanced. It will be right there at the bottom. Suit your bitrate to what i stated above and test the song. (Although I usually put lower bitrates for quick loading in Flash) :) Good Luck. Keep us updated..

Phew..Now I understand what’s the problem with it! The song that you are trying to upload is copyright protected. Go to the properties of the song and check out the “Protected” property of the file. It says YES. No wonder some of the songs u tried to play were playable and some were not. Well, use noteburner to remove the copyright and to my prediction, the song will be playable. Otherwise, try getting the same song from other source. That should do the trick :D

The thought of copyright passed my mind, but other songs that i ripped directly off cds worked so i thought that wasn’t it.
You were also correct on the bitrate. Shortly after my last post i found a converter called Total Audio Converter, i found it on download.com and it has a 30 day trial. I have found that if i convert the songs from my itunes music folder rather than trying to do wma’s they work flawlessly when i upload them.
Thanks for all your help !

From what I see, I believe we can get it done with CSS codes. I’ll dig into the code and let you know how to make it. Meanwhile, if you don’t have questions regarding the Music Upload, please post other comments in the Chat box on the right sidebar of this blog. This way, other users can track what is relevant to the content. Thanks and wait for the updates yeah :)
